Wincanton History Day

On April 5th we will be taking over the town for our third event. History Day is  a town-wide event celebrating history, in its broadest sense, through a host of family-oriented attractions.

This year the theme is "The Horse – In Work, Sport and Leisure". There will be a horse parade with costumed riders, a hobbyhorse "Grand National" for children, with a prize for the best silks and best turned-out horse, metal detecting, a vintage transport parade, live music, good food, an Antiques Roadshow-style event,  Victorian schoolroom re-enactment for children to take part in and much, much more.

If you want to take part in the transport parade, bring your vehicle. Everyone welcome. Follow the A303 East to the B3081 junction. Take the old A303 to line up at Bayford Hill for a 1.00pm start.
