Museum opening and Bioletti plaque unveiling Saturday 4 March 2023

A very important part of our first Wincanton History Day on 4 March 2023 is the official opening of our new Museum premises at 5 High Street. Richard Price, of Antiques Roadshow fame, has kindly agreed to undertake this.

His speciality being clocks, we feel we have been very lucky to persuade him to also officially unveil the blue plaque on what was Alberto Bioletti's house, further up the High Street. Bioletti was, of course, a clockmaker and, once settled in Wincanton after the Napoleonic wars, returned to the occupation he had learnt in the family business in Turin.
